This project was designed to reduce In-Process material by 75% and convert Plant Flow from old push style to new Mono-Rail Type Pull Manufacturing Cell Style. Project was very successful at reducing in-process material, increasing floor space and improving quality.

 

Old system of handling raw material for reels of cable.

New process for handling bulk storage of raw cable.

 

Old system of cutting entire orders of bulk cable and pushing to each station.

New process for cutting smaller quantities to allow for continuous flow of material along Mono-Rail system.

 

Old system of performing one operation on entire order, then pushing to next operation somewhere else in plant.

New process of using Cell Manufacturing allowing similar jobs to flow together down one cell line.
